(NGC224, Andromedagalaxie)

Unsere Nachbargalaxie ist 2.5 Mio. Lichtjahre entfernt. Bei dunklem Himmel kann man diese Galaxie sogar mit bloßem Auge im Sternbild Andromeda sehen.

In ferner Zukunft wird diese Galaxie mit unserer Milchstraße kollidieren…das wird ein Spaß.

Unterhalb der Bildmitte erkennt man noch die Begleitgalaxie M32 und rechts oben die Galaxie M110 (Entfernung 2,67 Mio. Lichtjahre).
